As you are no doubt aware, fireworks have been with us for centuries. Originally comprising hollow tubes filled with gunpowder which had been invented by the Chinese between 600AD and 900AD, it was not until the 17th century that the Italians seized upon the potential of fireworks and began to create spectacular displays with them.
